Travelling through the Boundary country

The route parallels Lower Arrow Lake yet there are few chances to see it as you gain altitude and travel through thick forests.  After a short time on part of the Trans Canada Trail, and going through an old abandoned mine site, you descend into the city of Greenwood.

Greenwood is the smallest incorporated city in Canada and has a population of just over 700.  It has all the necessary services including a museum and a municipal campsite.  Greenwood was once a Japanese internment camp during WWII, but in recent history it’s most famous for being the location of the filming of the Hollywood movie “Snow Falling On Cedars”.  Before leaving Greenwood make sure you have a full tank of fuel and are carrying extra water.  The final piece of the Boundary section of the TCAT crosses through the south end of Christian Valley heading towards the Okanagan.
